The Jim Harrington Art Gallery is a free art gallery inside of the Belvidere Discount Mall in Waukegan, Illinois. The gallery was funded by community members, and built in a vacant retail unit by young volunteers in the Waukegan community. After learning that we would be losing our physical ArtPark location due to the demolition of the adjacent buildings, we soon began a mission to rescue Jim Harrington's art that was scattered around town in vacant buildings and/or storage, and also begin transforming this retail space into an art gallery. The gallery officially opened in January of 2021. We are continually working to run the gallery more efficiently as well as creating a warm, welcoming, and interesting environment. We hope to educate our community on Jim Harrington and his impact in their community.

The gallery is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 1PM-6PM.

COMMUNITY ART GALLERY

Gallery 2109 is our second free art gallery inside of Belvidere Discount Mall. Gallery 2109 features many different artists from the Waukegan and throughout Lake County. Our intentions with this gallery is to help further grow the art community in Waukegan and reach a broader audience. The gallery currently features artists as young as 9 years old! You can come in to just view the art, but you can also make a purchase if interested.
